Hello Mr. Sunshine

Peter and I have a weekend day off together for the first time in our 6 years together! We spent our first of hopefully many saturdays together as a family. We went for a walk in Folsom and then enjoyed a cup of coffee together and then had some lunch and came home for naptime. I am super excited to get to spend one day a week as a family. I am so happy the weather is changing and the dull winter days will soon turn into fun in the sun.
Lily and I found a park in Roseville to spend our lazy sunday afternoon. Lily went down the slide like a big girl. She insisted that she must hold my hand on the way down but she is getting more brave. I was also a timid child we must just let her find her way. I am having second thoughts about the haircut. Check out her cute braids.

I can wear my hair down!

Last year around this time I took Lily to get her hair cut. Lily has had hair that has grown forward since birth. So I have had to put her hair up every day since her arrival home so that she could see where she was going. The lady who cut her hair told me that Lily would have trouble with her hair all her life because that is just the way it grew. I took her word for it and just bought rubber bands and hair ties in mass supply. I did think it was a little odd since I had never seen anyone as an adult that had hair growing in their eyes but thought I would just make the best of it. I know another guatemalan beauty who has the same forward growing hair so this post is for you. At some point you and your beauty will be able to go out and about with hair flowin wild and free! Just look at the picture below for assurance. I am so excited to let her wear her hair down. I am ready to go and get her another trim. (Not by the same doom and gloom woman of course)

Lily has a new game it is called follow the leader. Not my favorite in public places because I can not see her. She thinks it is hillarious. Speaking of hillarious Lily is now telling her first joke. When you ask her how old she is she says free (translation three) and then giggles and says two.

Super Bowl Sunday & Teeth

I am not a big fan of the Super Bowl. For me it is a celebration to the end of the season. Yeah no more football and a small sad sigh because I know that baseball is coming shortly. That being said Lily really enjoyed the football party! We had our friends over and lily got to play with their adorable girls. She is in love with the two of them and copies their every move.Avery even got my princess to dress up. She has never put on her birthday fairy wings but she put them on with gusto and let Avery teach her how to fly.
Lily was still talking about Avery and Hailey the next day. Even more surprising she shared all of her toys. I didn't hear the word mine escape her lips even once.
Yesterday was Lily's first dental exam. I was very nervous because, well she is two and she behaves just like that. Lily was the most cooperative two year old I have witnessed. She opened her mouth and let the dentist brush her teeth and feel around her mouth and even floss! My little one is getting so big. She only cried a little bit once while getting her teeth brushed and when we told her what a big girl she was she said yea and stopped crying. I was so impressed! To top it all off my lil bibi only has 3 more teeth to go and we are done teething. That my friends is cause for celebration. The dentist also confirmed the obvious fact that my beautiful girl at some point will need quite extensive orthodontia to fix her prominent over bite. That was no secret. We have already got that piggy bank in the works. I just pray for no head gear.
