Help me decide

I have been wanting to get a tattoo for quite sometime.
I have two tattoo's already.

I do not like either of them wish I could easily rid my body of them.
The first is on my hip it is two dolphins I got it when I was 18.
It so speaks to my teen years when I thought I'd be a marine biologist and work at Marine World. Very funny.

The second was a silly college decision it is supposed to be some buddhist symbol.
No I am not a buddhist (still like there fundamental teachings of peace though)
but anyways back to the tattoo it did not turn out correct it is the star of david in the middle of my back lower back.

It turns out to be okay to have the star of david tattooed on my back cause Peters half jewish. We laugh that it was some cosmic sign that we were meant to be together.
I don't think that my placement of the tattoo had been lovingly termed a tramp stamp quite yet back in those days. Or perhaps I was just not hip enough to know.

Anyhoo back to my need for another even though I have two I'd rather not have. I have been thinking about this tattoo for two years now and am pretty sure that when I'm 50 the meaning will still be held close to my heart. So I'm asking for advice. I am not sure where to place the tattoo. I am thinking maybe the top of my foot. Peter's suggesstion is the top of my middle back between my shoulder blades. I am a teacher so it has to be in a sort of modest placement. Like it can't be on my chest or my arm. There are no rules against it but I think I need to be able to cover it if need be. Like if I were to be laid off or something.
So here is what I want:

A Tiger Lily cause I live with one of those and she is the most precious litlle person around. Here it is in orange.

Here it is in pink. I'm leaning towards orange.

I would like this yellow butterfly to be flying just above it. The butterfly is in honor of my daughter Luci who we lost in our second trimester two years ago. I'm leaning towards the orange Tiger Lily because I think the yellow butterfly will compliment it.

So please take some time to weigh in on what you think. Where should it go and if you live in the sacramento area. Who is a really good artist?
Oh and just to be clear these pictures are big think small dainty and feminine.

well, on the top of the foot may not be something you can cover (think normal pump show with a heel?) unless you wear a boot. I posted some orange tiger lillies today that bloomed in our yard this past week. :) good luck with what you decide.

Wow, we are so much more joined at the mind than I thought! I too, wanted to work at Marine World and was a marine biology major for a while.

I went so far as to call Marine World to find out exactly what I had to do to become a whale and dolphin trainer. Long story! And not what I expected at all!

Then the tattoo....I too was thinking on the top of my foot. I changed it though when I heard about the pain factor and something else I can't quite think of.

I think you should DEFINITELY get the orange flower! I think it would look SO nice (where, I don't know) How about the back of the neck, then you can show it whenever you choose :o)

I do know of a really good place, her name is Jennifer, I think. She is down on Madison or something and comes highly recommended. I will get her info from my friend.

Tramp Stamp....ha ha ha....it never gets old :o)

Did I even answer all of your questions?!

That is too funny- I also have a tattoo of dolphins from when I was 18. Luckily it is on my stomach and is not seen. I also have a tattoo on my foot. It was very painful. Also on the top of the foot seems to fade quicker. I have had to have mine redone because of that. Mine is all black though and I hardly put sunblock on it and it so that could be a factor. But I do love the way tattoos look on the top of the foot. I think of adding to mine sometimes.

As far as the actual tattoo, I love the orange. I think it just pops out and is beautiful. I also love the meanings of the tattoo.

I totally agree...love the orange!

I have a lotus flower on my foot....on the inside foot, just below the ankle. I LOVE this placement. You can hide it by keeping your feet together or with socks. I would like anothre one on the other foot...something to symbolize adoption and my daughter, but haven't come up with a symbol!

"I do not like either of them and wish I could easily rid my body of them." Your comment jumps out at me. Are you "sure" you want another permanent tattoo and that in ten years you won't feel the same as you do about your first two? Just wondering...

Well where I have mine can be covered all the time but maybe you wnat yours seen. I put mine basically on my left lower stomach/pelvic area so it can be covered with normal underware or a bathing suit. I only have one so I choose something that has been constant, a line drawing of a horse jumping over the waves (aquarius) just black and plain.
I have both tiger lillies but I do like the orange, a bit more temper in that one.

Haha, I don't think you can call a Star of David a tramp stamp even if it's in that spot LOL The orange lily makes me think of Lily all the way that is my vote. That is so HER! Love the idea! My vote is ankle or shoulder blades.
