Race Day

On Sunday we ran the Zoo Zoom.

We ran the 5K portion.

The first 5K for both Peter and I.
I was wondering whose idea it was, to get up at this ungodly hour,

go out in the cold, and run 3 miles.

Oh yea it was all my idea.

This is a picture of Peter and I having this exact conversation:

Peter, "I'm a little faster than you, so I'll be in front just follow me."

Sarah, "What makes you think you are faster than me?"

Peter, "I don't know, you think your as fast as me?"

Sarah, "I think I just might be."

And we are off.

Truth be told the first mile was easy as pie.

The second mile was a little rough for me.

I got a cramp I wanted to give up a little

and I let that husband of mine get ahead of me.

Once I passed the 2 mile marker I was feeling replenished

So I sped up and found that fast man of mine.....

And we finished it together.

I think they call that a tie!

Upon further investigation Peters time was
36.38.7

and my score was

36.38.8

So we now have to have a rematch!

Next up were the littles.

I cherish our friendships with all of these people.

Meg came to see us finish and all of them took time on their

Sunday so Lily would feel comfortable to run in the race too.

I'm so blessed to call them my friends.

Some warm up excersizes.

My two favorite peeps!

Perhaps, we over did it, on the warm up

Great job kiddos!

Not pictured here are mi Padres

I also owe them a giant thank you and I love you!

They met us at my house at 7am to come see us race

and keep a certain little someone happy.

It was a great day and we feel so accomplished!

Easter Day picture overload

We had a wonderful Easter day.

We woke up to an Easter scavenger hunt.

Lily's request.

When she was 4 the Easter bunny did a hunt for the basket.

At 5 he didn't have time because he had to find us out of town.

She wanted to make sure he didn't forget this year.

There are no pictures of said event because I had my camera on the wrong setting.

It was however thoroughly enjoyed!

After a lazy morning getting ready we went to the zoo.

Its an Easter tradition.

The below picture is of Lily posing like a flamingo.

Not a bad flamingo imitation.

The Slamingos have always been her favorite.

I miss when they were called Slamingos. Oh, you said pose with them not as them.

The big cats were out and enjoying the sun.

Lily has become a little model.

I used to have to take millions and millions of pictures of her in action.

Now she finds the place and poses herself.

She is quite the guatemodel!

I was not sure if this guy in the front was going to enjoy a back rub

or a push down the hill.

The guy in the front wasn't sure either he headed out.

I'm gonna say he wanted the spot all to himself.

Another Lily placed pose.

I think she has an eye for these things.

This poor guy finished all his Easter treats.

I know the feeling.

The Easter bunny had a surprise for us.

He packed Lily's lunch inside of some eggs and hid them.

He even set the mood.

Lily approved of the bunnies new idea.

And were all ready to eat.

And it was approved of.

Good job E.B.

After lunch it was time for some bubbles.

Another Easter tradition.

My favorite picture of the day.

Some family shots.

I know I take after my daddy.

I got my eyesight from my mom but everything else came from him.

I never thought however that I looked much like either of my parents.

I guess I was wrong.

We look very much alike.

On the way to the car Lily treated us to some more modeling.

In the late afternoon we had a hunt with cousin Ava

and a very Easterly dinner of lasagna.

Then we tried a family shot.

Guess Lily was all done posing for the day.

Eggcellent evening

We went to Meg's house for some egg dyeing fun!

We managed to make quite the mess and some beautiful eggs.

Everyone gave a little cheese for the camera.

I mean seriously have you seen anything cuter than this.

Jake calls these two his girls.

They do love their boy!

Whats an easter party without some Bunny cupcakes.

They got Sofia's stamp of approval.

Notice that Lily is once again a meatball head.

The buns are back.

I must admit that I missed them.
