She did it!

Lily was in our friend Nick and Elana's wedding on Saturday. It was an exauhsting day. She only had an hour nap and the wedding was 3 hours away. Mommy and Lily were very tired by the end of the day, but I have to start giving my girl more credit, because I truly thought there is no way she was going to walk down the aisle and she amazed me once again. She even threw the petals from her basket. She did have another flower girl to copy and a ample supply of jelly beans to coax her. So from now on I am not going to underestimate my girl or the power of the jelly bean :)

On a side note just something I must vent about. I had someone make a comment to me at the wedding about how their children don't eat sweets as they looked at my girls ample supply of jelly beans. I told him it was a special day and she was a special girl. What I should have said was keep your opinions to yourself. This same person told my husband when we started the adoption process my husband should just get a mail order bride it would be cheaper. So, as you can imagine I do not like him too much and try to avoid contact as all costs! He says he doesn't understand why his comment offended me so. There are some people that are not worth my time or explanation!

Vaseline intensive care is not for ones hair!

Funny Story!
Wednesday was my 33rd birthday. I had a wonderful birthday with some really great gifts from my family. That is not the funny part. I was getting ready because Peter was going to take us girls out for my day. I saw Lily with a jar of Vaseline and thought well she can't get that open. I severely underestimated my two year old. I forgot about the Vaseline and continued on my merry way getting ready. Lily comes into the bathroom and says mommy stuey hair. I looked up from my beautification process and saw Lily with what looked like wet hair. What happened had not clicked quite yet. I said did Stuey lick your hair, our dog is a major licker. She said no. Then the Vaseline came back to the forefront of my brain. Lily divided the whole jar of Vaseline between herself and our dog. While I was busy doing my hair she was also doing hers. Vaseline I must say does not come out of ones hair or fur very easily. We went to dinner anyways with a very happy very greasy little one. Stuey and Lily have both had many baths over the last few days and they still look slightly greasy. I did find a home remedy on the Internet so I was not the only mom that thought that their little one could not get that jar open. I won't be underestimating her any time soon! I did not get a picture of Lily with her greaser do I did however capture Stuey. Lily's hair looked much the same. The picture however does not capture the true essense of the grease.

Check me out how smart am I!

Now I'm gettin Sassy!

Favorite Foto Friday #1

Favorite Foto Friday #1

I have wanted to post a favorite photo friday for quite sometime but fridays seem to slip away from me without any computer time. So I am awake for some unknown reason at 3:30 am and I decided to make good use of my time. So here is my first official favorite foto friday. The theme is spring weather. The weather here in CA has been less than stellar. We have this wind around here that is oh so cold. So I decided to check out the archives and see what I could find. Lily is about 9 months old and these pictures are of our first summer together. She has always been such a happy girl. I can't believe what a big girl she is now!

Hair cut

Mommy someone says if you make this face too much it might get stuck. Lets see if it is true.
Another photo shoot picture. The weird mark on her face is because I do not own a scanner so I took a picture of the picture in the frame.
My girl never ceases to amaze me. I brought an arsenal of bribery on the trip to the salon. To my shock and dismay Lily got up in the chair played with the toys handed to her and was a complete angel. I am beginning to understand what parents mean when they say that their children are always well behaved at a friends house. Lily does phenomenal things for strangers.

Ta Dah. I even get a jelly bean.
This is Lily's new camera smile. I think it is hilarious. She is a flower girl in a wedding in a few weeks. I wonder if this face will be in all the wedding pictures? Another place I expect to need a bag of magic tricks. who knows she might amaze me and walk right down the aisle. We shall see.

Window down

Just another car ride. Lily has decided these movie star glasses are pretty cool. And when we ride in the car the window must be down.

Lily learned this face from her repeated episodes of Barney. wook mommy arent I cute.

Lily went on a photo shoot. Where she was magically well behaved. The gods were with me that day. I haven't been to the picture people in almost a year since our last embarrassing trip. But my girl smiled and said cheese that day.
Mommy and Lily dining out. I love my cuddle bug.

Tagged

Lily has been tagged. The directions are to post 10 things about yourself and then to tag ten more people. So her are some random facts about miss Lily.

#1. Lilyana was given her name by us, it is a combination of two important people in our lives. Peter's grandmother and my mom. When we blended them together that is what we came up with. We thought we made it up low and behold we chose a hispanic name and spelled it wrong. Her middle name is Rubi. Rubi came from her birthmother. It was her given middle name and what Lily's foster mother called her.

#2 Lily gets fixated on one show of choice and we have to watch just that one show over and over again until you think your head may explode if you see one more episode. It started with Caillou and transitioned to Barney and now we have moved on to nothing but Dora. I now lay awake hearing "I'm the map." Why is the freakin map so screechy!

#3 Lily loves to get her groove on and it could be music of any kind. She wiggles her bottom and sways her arms. She also likes to make her own music. Right now her song of choice is The Ants Go Marching. The minute we enter the car she says more march mommy.

#4 Lily is afraidy cat. There are lots of scary things in this world. There is a scary pickle, scary tickle me elmo, there is a scary pink truck at the mall. And the humidifier in the shape of a cow that has been in her room her whole life is now a scary cow and it has to have a jacket zipped around it so as not to affend her eyes. I don't really think she is scared so much of all these things I just think it is a way for her to control her environment.

#5 Lily has started saying scratchy froat mommy, tyenol. Translation scratchy throat mommy I need tylenol. I have no idea where this has come from. My mom swears she did not ask her if she had a scratchy throat and neither my husband nor I have ever used those words. She is not sick. It is really very cute to hear those words come out of her mouth whatever they may mean.

#6 She hates messes. If she sees a mess she feels the need to promptly point it out to me. wook mommy messy. If there is garbage on the sidewalk she wants to pick it up and throw it away. She is very concious of our environment.

#7 Lily loves her dog Stuey. She follows him around all her waking hours saying Stuey come here I show you. I still have no idea what she is going to show him. The suspense is killing me.

#8 Lily loves to draw with crayons pencils markers whatever the medium she is always drawing circles. She sits at her little table saying circle mommy circle. Mommy draw circle.

#9 Lily is undeniable the boss. She barks out orders like no one else I know. Stuey sit, no barking, mommy sit, my turn, by myself, up, are a few of her favorites at the moment. Her other favorite is no thank you. Lily lets go take a bath. No thank you. Lily you need a diaper change. No thank you. etc...................

#10 Lily has a blanket she calls tags. She must go to sleep with that blanket. It would go where ever she went if it wasn't looking so dingy but mommy hides it before outings. One because it looks embarrassing and two because of fear that we may loose it and Lily will never sleep again.
I am not going to tag ten more I just don't know that many people so I encourage all that read my blog to add ten things about themselves or their little ones.
