Guatemala Playday #2

Today was the second of hopefully many Guatemala get togethers. It was perfect weather and a perfect day to play with friends and meet new ones.

Our friend Chase AKA Lilyana's future husband. His mommy and I joke about this but I think he is a fine catch. I am sure they won't mind their mommies picking right?

Whenever we tell Lily she is going to see Aviana she says "Aviana my best friend."

There were many more beautiful children I am so happy that we had such a wonderful turnout and can't wait to do it again. So much fun to share stories and see these kiddos playing together.

I think we may be in trouble

Lily has given me a rough time about going to preschool this year. She is never happy about going there and I have waffled about her continuing or just caving to her requests. What has kept me going is first off I love the preschool, secondly she is always happy when my mom picks her up and she has nothing but good things to say about her friends and there is the fact that she has learned oh so much. So like it or not were going. She quite often tells me that she does not like Ms. Wendy, but her reasoning is always something like Wendy has told her to sit down, or that she can't play on the baby side etc... Nothing really to worry about Lily is just going to have to get used to people requesting things of her she REALLY likes to be in control. The other morning Lily said on her way to school "I dont want to go to school?" I asked her why and she said I don't like Ms. Wendy (poor Wendy she can be given consolation cause I really like her) Anyways I said why? Her response had me rolling! This is Lily speak: Ms. Wendy say me to sit next to Keshnee (a girl) I want to sit next to Mathew and Brady cause I just LOVE boys."

FFF SAHM

This is my last friday of work before I get to stay home with my girl for many weeks at a time. Next friday I shall be free of alarm clocks, and racing from one place to another. Consider me a faithful FFF follower for the next few months. I love meeting this finish line each year!

Kites in Berkeley

Lily and I joined Nonnie and Papa on a day trip to kite fly in Berkeley. The weather was on the chilly side, but it was fun to bundle up for the day when summer sizzle is on, here where we are.Papa and Lily getting the elephant up in the air.

I got a years zoo membership for my birthday this year so we took advantage of our free entrance on this beautiful day. I imagine we will be spending a lot of our summer here.

At our zoo they just installed a merry go round which is very exciting since our mall is under renovation and the merry go round is MIA for awhile. Lily wanted to ride the zebra but was very gracious when she saw it had an occupant and rode the tiger.I wonder what he is upset about.

Summer Is Here!

The official start to summer here in my town is the first of some really hot days. It was 97 here today and is supposed to be 103 on Sunday. So summer we have begun. Every year around this time I try to convince everyone around that this will be the year of the fish for my water phobic child. I am not going to do it this year. Lily shall be whatever way she wants around the water. If I am the one mom with the screaming banchie at the pool while the other moms laugh and giggle with their children in the pool so be it. Or if I am the one person who sits and plays on the edge of the pool all day long getting just our toes wet thats fine too. So screaming banchie or no screaming banchie summers here and Im ready to relax kick off my shoes and have a few margaritas.

Mothers Day

Peter works on Sundays so it gives me a chance to spend the morning alone with my mom and truly honor her before being celebrated myself. It is like having two mothers days in one. So Lily and I headed off to the park to have a picnic with my parents.

This year I decided that my mom Lily and I simply had to go get our pictures taken. It ended up being a lot of fun and the pictures turned out wonderful.We had to purchase this out take. This is Lily's monster face it truly captures her personality.

Wonderful Wednesday

My mayan lion has been making an appearance this week. I seem to have tamed her thank goodness and we had one of those perfect evenings the sun made an appearance today and Lily played outside in a puddle on the grass.
