Last minute camping trip!

Somehow my last weekend of summer vacation has arrived.

I find myself sitting on the couch on the eve of my first day of work

largely in denial.

How did it fly by so fast.

We decided to say our goodbyes to vacation

with a bang. We also decided to take trouble

and his little brother

slightly less trouble.
They were actually not really much trouble at all.

Turns out they like to camp.

They also let their big sister join them.
She also enjoys camping.

I'd like you to take a good look at that pink shirt.

Keep that image in your head for later.

Lily's favorite part of this trip was

taking a romp through the forest.

See doesn't he look so sweet.

Really he is sweet,

but he has earned his nickname.

He is trouble.
He is hatching an escape plan in the tiny head of his.

His escape plan did not come to fruition this time....

I think it is a right of passage to ride in the back of a pick up.
Only while camping though

I promise.
My goodness I love the gap in that smile.

Do you still have that nice clean pink shirt in your head?

It is the sign of a good camping trip to come out looking like this.

I must tell you not to laugh

she wouldn't let me take her picture with her shirt on

cause she was afraid you all might laugh at her.

Shame on you for laughing :0)

It was a perfect camping trip.

On a side note though

the mushy gushy on the bottom of the lake.

I DO NOT like it at ALL!

Fair

What is summer without the fair.

We found a ride very much like the favorite at the boardwalk.

The grin was just as wide.

Cute piggy bottoms.

Can't get enough of cute piggy bottoms.

She misses her horses.

A little snack before lunch.

Turtles make my girl giggle.

Daddy was pushing on their shell

and making them pull their heads inside.

It was apparently hilarious.

These were the hit of the fair.

These Sturgeon were like dogs.

When you put your hands in the water

they came up and bumped your palm for a pet.

Grass sculptures are always my favorite.

Lily is looking at a woman who may or may not be bungee jumping.

I think she was a little worried.

She did finally jump.

This is the face we make after lots of fried foods.

I think we are upset it is all gone.

And lastly my favorite picture of the day.

camping

We went camping.

Lily's first time,

and, oh, so much fun!

I think perhaps we went with the correct people

roughing it should be a term used very, very, loosely

we ate like Kings, Queens, princess', and princes.

Although, there was a port-a-potty, to remind me I was actually camping.

Lily only entered once as Sof's parents have a trailer

the one time she entered she was shocked and dismayed

she looked at me and gasped

Mommy!!! That is disgusting!

Yes my darling it is but when one has to go well......

As you can see by these faces fun was had by the wee people.

We walked to have some ice cream.

Our idea was we would bring the wagon in case they got tired.

The littles had a whole nother idea

they rode the whole way.

I must say I had a pleasant stroll as I did not pull the wagon.

I merely enjoyed the cuteness!

We spent some time at the lake

where Lily proved once again this is the summer

of conquering fears.

Last year the site of the choppy water would have sent her running

this year she did not even notice the waves.

Lily showed off her aim
At first Clyde was not armed
but quickly realized he must fight back.
Last year being squirted with water would have brought on the tears.
This year being squirted only brought on determination!

I adore Jake
he is polite beyond measure and just
such a happy easy going guy.

And bubbly and bright describes Sofia
this beauty always has something to giggle about.

We had a little spoon race

Cutest thing as the three littles yelled

READY SET GO!

And the hand off.

The age difference was apparent

Lily 5 balanced that egg and was determined to win

Sofia 4 balanced the egg and didn't notice a winner

Jake 3 held his egg on the spoon and happily moved forward.

I'd say the perfect combination.

and what's camping without a little biking.

Lily has mastered that big girl bike.

She rocked it on flat ground

downhill

uphill

and over rocky terrain.

Way to go little rockstar!

summer is off to a wonderful start!

Stinson and the beast

On Tuesday we traveled to one of my favorite beaches.
Stinson beach.
While there we encountered a wild beast.
It had no fear it was fierce.
It was very sneaky and attatcked from behind.

My mom was no match for the wily beast.
It took her down.

And then came back for another round.

Oh no baby tiger saw the camera......

and warned the wild beast.

No worries, the wild beast was tamed, and the sweet girl was brought home.
