I am not a big fan of the Super Bowl. For me it is a celebration to the end of the season. Yeah no more football and a small sad sigh because I know that baseball is coming shortly. That being said Lily really enjoyed the football party! We had our friends over and lily got to play with their adorable girls. She is in love with the two of them and copies their every move.
Avery even got my princess to dress up. She has never put on her birthday fairy wings but she put them on with gusto and let Avery teach her how to fly.
Lily was still talking about Avery and Hailey the next day. Even more surprising she shared all of her toys. I didn't hear the word mine escape her lips even once.
Yesterday was Lily's first dental exam. I was very nervous because, well she is two and she behaves just like that. Lily was the most cooperative two year old I have witnessed. She opened her mouth and let the dentist brush her teeth and feel around her mouth and even floss! My little one is getting so big. She only cried a little bit once while getting her teeth brushed and when we told her what a big girl she was she said yea and stopped crying. I was so impressed! To top it all off my lil bibi only has 3 more teeth to go and we are done teething. That my friends is cause for celebration. The dentist also confirmed the obvious fact that my beautiful girl at some point will need quite extensive orthodontia to fix her prominent over bite. That was no secret. We have already got that piggy bank in the works. I just pray for no head gear.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Daddy!
Peter and I spent the day with Lily yesterday and then she went to Nonnie's house for the night and we got to go out on the town. We had fun together. We don't go on enough dates. Lily spent the night with Nonnie and Papa and she woke up to eat at 3 in the morning. Lily and Nonnie snacked and then slept together on the couch. Papa took a most adorable picture which I will post as soon as he sends it to me.
This is a video of Lily playing ring around the rosie with Stuey. I caught her at the end of her game but she is saying Ashes Ashes as she walks around him and the she says fall down. Too cute!Saturday, January 12, 2008
Stylized
I feel so fancy fresh with my new blogger style. Thanks to Nikki I got to help out in a humantiarian effort and get blogger botox as someone lovingly called it. Go to the link in the upper left hand corner if you would also like a face lift.

My parents just came back from vacation. They went to Mexico and then to Guatemala where they explored places we hope to bring Lily one day. They brought home some beautiful gifts for our family. Thank you mom and dad.

This is the only picture I took of our New years eve celebration. We went to our friends house where Lily got to play with the big kids.
Daddy don't worry I can fix it!

I said I'd never
As a woman who really wanted to be a mother I used to stand on my high horse and look at the moments other parents were in duress and think I would never! Or even better my child would never! It only took me a moment to figure out once becoming a mother that many of my I would nevers were not all that realistic. Here is a list of a few of my I would nevers:
I would never give in to a child's screaming
I would never shop with a screaming child
I would never bargain or plead
I would never soothe with sugar
Every single one of those flew out the window on todays shopping escapade. Going shopping with Lily is at the least a little like entering battle. First I have to squish a writhing twisting turning body into the small seat of the shopping cart. Getting her feet into those holes is like pounding a square peg into a round hole and once my pegs are properly secured I must push down on her mid section so that I can fasten the belt. All the while having curious on lookers watch or glare as the case may be at my screaming child. Who is yelling no mommy no all done all done a bit like I am causing some serious damage. Usually once I have my writhing beast fastened I can give her snacks and whalla just like that mommy has won. Today however was the day in which the battle was not won with a bag of raspberries. Today the screaming twisting contorting of the body continued until she wriggled out of the belt and was standing like king of the mountain in the shopping cart. Face a little red from her exersion and yelling ALL DONE! At this point my nerves were frazzled do I do what I always said I would do and leave the store. Truth be told there is no other time to shop I start back to work tomorrow and must make lunches give baths clean house and shopping has to get done now or never. So she won! I put her down on the floor and let her roam the aisles. To make the story even better I decided to let her wear her pajamas today because they are her favorite so she is roaming the aisles in her pink dora jammies and matching slippers. Come to find out that slippers are not appropriate footwear for the grocery store and as I am picking out my hamburger meat I hear a thud and turn to see my pink jammie girl splayed on the floor next to the cart and the thud was her head hitting the wheel of the shopping cart. I scoop up the beast and can no longer be a bit angry as I sooth my little one in the meat aisle. She is doing that horrible scream where no sound comes out. After what seems an eternity she calms down some and we push on.
So I am now carrying her and pushing the cart. She is all snuggled against me and hanging on for dear life when my savior comes. A clerk says oh how cute is she tired. I told her that she had just given herself a black eye. She said she would get her a cookie. I knew she was also a mother because she spelled the word cookie. So off she went to the bakery to fetch the tantilizing treat. She brought her a star with red sugar on the top. By the time our shopping excursion was over Lily was a happy sticky mess with teeth stainded red and the eye was nearly forgotten.
Next week I assure you that the shopping will get done when Peter gets off of work. And I hereby swear to never think I would never again.

Mr. Pickle
We have a Mr. Pickle sandwich shop down the street from us and there is a very very enthusiastic pickle who stands on the street corner rain or shine and waves to all the cars. My parents recently took Lily to dine there and she told them no pickle, no pickle. Scary, scary. Then a few days later they drove by the corner and Papa pointed the pickle out to her and she hid her eyes all the way home and repeatedly talked about the scary pickle for the next half hour. Now truth be told I am kind of with her the smiling waving pickle with those crazy eyes and the wide open mouth smile is a bit scary. So now we have to drive out of our way to avoid the scary pickle intersection.

Christmas 2007
This christmas vacation Lily has decided that I am no longer Mama but my name is now Mommy. I love the new name she sounds just so grown up. Our family spent a week in the Tahoe Keys and had a great time in the snow. Although Lily is not much of a cold weather girl, She prefers the tropics as do her mommy and daddy. It was very fun to be in a winter wonderland for christmas. Few places are as beautiful as Tahoe.
Santa Stuey came for a visit.
Mommy Santa didn't eat all of his cookies I really must have one.
I must stop for a rest and have some juice.
Papa what ya readin?
Look at me. No one is carrying me can you believe it.
Mommy I told you I was done with the snow get me out of here!
