Beach babe

Today we took a little road trip to one of our favorite places on the California coast. It is called Stinson Beach and is very near San Francisco.
On our way down the twisty road we always must stop to take a peek at the view.
I like this series of pictures because it truly captures the essense of Lily. She is my bee bop and I love her to pieces.
Always takes a little while to warm up.

Taking a few steps out on her own still holding on tight.

Out on her own.

And back again. No one said it would be so cold.

And back to her comfort zone trusty tags in hand. Night night bee bop.

FFF - Friends

Nothing better than hanging out with a good friend!Speaking of friends, we have a little friend that is still in need of our prayers. The lord can not hear Aviana's name enough. You can see my post about her here.
You can also read her story here.
Mostly just send positive thoughts and prayer her way. The more people pulling for this little one the better!

Aviana

If you asked my daughter how to describe this little person seated next to her on this here swing she would without a doubt say "Aviana my be-est friend" There is always this sing songy way she says best. Whenever we go to someones house or to a park Lily asks if Aviana is going to be there. Aviana is truly my girls first friend. I have grandiose plans of sleepovers, and smores, and giggles about boys when I see these two play together. They are two peas in a pod. Aviana is the perfect amount of daredevil to make my girl do things her timid personality wouldn't normally do. Like go down a slide or sit her butt on a big girl swing. This family is my dream come true really we get along fabulously with Jen and Dave and our daughters are not only from the same country of birth but they also play so very well together. I asked Jen before doing this post because the last thing I would want to do is to add to her pain. Aviana and her papa were struck by a car this past week and Lily's sweet friend is fighting for her life. There has not been a minute of the day since I found out about this tragic event that I have not been thinking of my friends. So in posting this I just ask for your prayers for Aviana and her family.

Fundraiser

This fundraiser is continuing until July 3rd. This is one of the three clips I purchased from the shop and I am going to go back and buy this clip in every color! This one was my favorite but each of them was fabulous.
A facebook buddy of mine is running a fundraiser here are the details. A girl can never have too many hairbows!
Help support a great cause a fundraiser to benefit Mayan Families (http://www.mayanfamilies.org/Home), a small non-profit organization operating in the Highlands of Guatemala. Bowtique Lollipop (http://www.bowtiquelollipop.com/index.htm) sells custom designed hand-made hair bows and other original products. 50% of all sales that reference promotion code "MAYAN" between now and July 3 will be dontated to Mayan Families.

FFF horses

You are going to have to bear with me cause I have a feeling there will be a lot of horse pictures from here on out. When I went in to get Lily on Tuesday for preschool she was fully dressed laying in bed. She was all ready to see the horses. I told her we were going to see her friends and she stomped her little foot and said no you say me we going to see horses. We see horses and then go to Ms. Wendy's house and then have ice cream. Does that sound like a good idea? And yes that sounded like a fine idea but we still had to do it my way. Needless to say when Thursday finally got here she was one happy girl. She ran right down to the stables like she owned the place.

Delap family

Last weekend Peter and I traveled up to his parents house to visit. Here are some pictures of our country walk.
Just a gaggle of Delap's.Daddy and Lily looking at fish.
Grandpa showing her the ropes.

One Guatemalan princess on a mission.

I wish I may I wish I might.

Lastly, we have a kind of moretorium on naps here in our house. Which I might add is my fault cause I was just telling a friend how she naps so well! Lily has been getting out of bed and changing clothes and reading books instead of napping. So this is how I found her yesteday. She changed shorts put on her 4th of July shirt and topped off the outfit with halloween socks on her hands. She also had every last pair of socks and underwear in bed with her. They've been moved a little higher. The good news is mommy still gets a break cause it has not occurred to her to leave her room just yet.

Forget-me-not

"An angel in the book of life wrote down my baby's birth.
Then whispered as she closed the book "too beautiful for the earth."

I pray the lord your soul to keep;
Within his arms he'll hold you tight,

FFF

Lily got a cute haircut the other day. Her behavior was not so cute so it is quite miraculous that it came out so well.
Here is the back.

I am so loving spending so much time with my sassy wonder. Here is how we ate dinner the other day. She fills my heart and I love love spending my days with her!

Horses

My heart swelled with pride today. My girl proved herself to be a rockstar.
I was given a reccomendation for a lady who works with young children and horses. She runs a daycamp for 5 and under. The children learn about the animals, how to do chores, they get eggs from the chicken coop and ride horses. I am not talking ponies you see at the fair, but the real deal. I have mentioned before that Lily is very timid. She does not like strangers talking to her, about her, or even near her. When we go to functions with others she will sit on my lap for a minimum of 30 minutes and observe before she will get down and play. If you try to push her before she is ready the process takes much longer, so on play dates by the time we're leaving my child is ready to play. Now if there is an animal of any kind around she is like a different child. She forgets her timid ways and off she goes. It doesn't matter how big the animal is either she has not met one she didn't like. (which at times I might add is very scary for Mommy!) So today we just went to get a feel for this place to see if it was something we were interested in. Most children just observe the animals and maybe brush them and then come back for another visit or two before jumping into horse riding. But not my child..............
A little grooming

I love the difference in size.
Lily refuses to wear any kind of head gear but if a horse is involved it is no problem.

Getting ready to get on.

Carrie was very worried she was going to freak out. She didn't expect her to be on long at all. She told me she would hold onto her and bring her down when she was ready.

Lily wasn't ready to get down so she took her around the arena. No one is holding her she doesn't have a belt around her waist my heart is beating a little faster here.

Then she took her hand off the handle. Carrie tried to get her to take both hands off but she just switched hands. She wasn't quite ready for that yet.

So we're not doing the daycamp cause it's three hours which I think is a little long, but we are going to spend once a week getting some lessons. Go Lily go!
On a side note after riding this very large animal the hose scared the daylights out of her. I just had to chuckle!

Peas

This is (was) our newest favorite activity. Our pea plant can not produce enough to keep our girl happy. Luckily I decided to photograph this event today cause right after we finished this batch Lily went outside for an extended amount of time (it was quiet I should have known) to fetch our dog and came in with every last pea on the plant.

The remains.

Garage sale find!

I never go to garage sales because I always go to them with an idea of what I need and said items are never found and I leave them thinking why would I take someone elses clutter home to my house. BUT......today while house hunting with my parents we drove by and saw a piece of glass which I thought might fit our patio table that recently met a sad demise. So turns out the glass would not fit the patio table and my parents have to keep looking for their dream abode. Lily however got a mansion of her own complete with furnishing and a family!
Our new home.
Living room

Bathroom spa tub and shower and EEk a mouse.

Kids room

Another kids room
Family come with a cat and dog. Pet bowls, dog bed and the cat even has a scratching post. Too cute.

I don't know whose more excited Lily or Mommy!
