I've been tagged

I received a very fun note from Jen this morning "tagging" me! So, today's post will be all about me :-)Here's what I have been "tagged" to do:1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they have been tagged, and to read your blog.

#1. At age 17 I dyed my hair green with a pack of kool aid and went around town with my friends. At that age I was super skinny, not attractive skinny, just bony and I was tall for my age. So I got nicknamed the Jolly Green Giant. Luckily my friends who followed me through the years have let that go :)

#2. I am obsessed with the sun. I love it. I love tan skin and feel so much happier during these months. And even think my clothes fit better. If I could live anywhere it would be where the sun shines year round.

#3. I met one of my dearest friends in college. We are both tall and have similar sense of fashion and used to wear our hair the same. We lived together for around 4 years while we finished college and moved here to Sacramento together. People used to mistake us for twins quite often. One day at a restaurant the waitress was checking our IDS and asked if we were twins. She was looking at our different birth dates. Glad she was taking orders and not performing brain surgery. Oh the good old days, how I miss two closets.

#4. I am working on being more assertive. I am a people pleaser and want people to like me. My new goal is to tell others what I think and learn to stand up for myself so I can be a better person for me and a better mom to Lily. So if I disagree with you, know deep down I am cringing.

#5. I am secretly pretty okie. I grew up in the country. My dad built our house and we lived in a trailer for many years. My dad often apologizes for the way we lived, but I am so grateful for those memories. At the shower in the trailer there was a pipe that led up the wall. Frogs hung out on the pipe, as a kid I thought it was super cool that I got to shower with frogs. My parents were struggling to make ends meet and we had very little, but I knew I was loved and cherished by my family and didn't feel I needed anything. One of my favorite stories we will just call 4-H. My brother raised a pig for 4-H and we had no way to transport the pig so my dad took the front seat out of our Volkswagen bug and transported him that way. The pig chewed on the dash and my mother could have spit venom. I could write a book of my memories.

#6. I hate to cook. I wish I could just whip something up in the kitchen but without a recipe I am a fish without water. My husband does all the cooking in the family. When I open the refrigerator I see nothing even if I just went shopping. I will do the dishes any day over cooking a meal.

#7. My husband and I went to high school together and were even in his brothers wedding together. I had no attraction to him nor he to me. He went off to Washington and I went off to college and we saw each other at a BBQ years later and there was electricity. His girlfriend was with him and I barely spoke to him but boy did I think he was hot. He went back to Washington and I went back to life, but we could not stop thinking about each other. A year later he he got laid off and came home to California and the first thing he did was have my current sister in law set us up. 11 short months later we were married and he was unemployed. My parents were having a heart attack but when you know, you know. He is now a working member of society and we are happily married, sometimes you must take a leap of faith, but if Lily thinks she is marrying a unemployed man she has got another thing coming :)

#8. I am a secret clutter bug. I don't see how you all keep your houses so clean. My house is by no means dirty, but I need someone to come and tell me where to put things. Papers pile up, receipts get stacked, toys get strewn. My classroom is the same as my house. The good lord forgot to put organizational skills in my package.

Friends I tagged: Sophia, Diana
